"Starting an Internet Venture"

Moderated by Jim Barrett, Co-Chair of our Internet/E-Commerce Practice Group, Palmer & Dodge.

James T. Barrett is the Co-Chair of our Internet/E-Commerce Practice Group. He is a partner in the Business Law Department and primarily represents public and private information technology companies, underwriters, venture capital funds and investment advisers. Mr. Barrett represents start-up as well as publicly-traded Internet, E-Commerce, networking and software businesses. His practice is largely transactional, focusing on public offerings, venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions and corporate collaborations. Mr. Barrett also represents underwriters in public offerings, as well as venture funds and investment advisers in fund formation, portfolio investment transactions and regulatory matters.

Mr. Jungen is the president of Business Angel Netzwerk Deutschland, an angel network based in Berlin, Germany. He founded Peter Jungen Holding GmbH after 20 years of industry experience. He is also active in the European Angel Network, where he presently is the vice president. Mr. Jungen is a board member for a number of German insurance companies and banks, as well as the Cologne University and the New York Philharmonic orchestra.

(E-commerce business selling French "Art deVivre" products and gifts to the American and Canadian market)
Past activities: Founder and CEO of CYRANO Inc., a company developing and marketing testing software dedicated to improving the quality and performance of Internet, Client/Server and Main Frame applications. Rauscher has 15 years of experience in business development of new markets in growing, innovative technologies. He has held various positions in sales and marketing management, new product introduction and strategic planning in Europe and in the US.

Burckhard Bonello is a 3rd Generation Start-Up Entrepreneur. Currently Co-Founder of the Personal Internet company - www.meome.de. Founder and former co-CEO of E-Commerce company www.novedia.de. Masters in Computer Engineering at TU-Berlin. For two years Burckhardt held serveral lecturers at TU-Berlin and Stanford University as a free-lance lecturer.

Sylvie Marc started her career as an auditor at Deloitte & Touche then she graduated from Babson Graduate School of Business in Wellesley, Massachusetts with a M.B.A. She worked for Lafayette Development, a venture capital firm focused on French technologies companies seeking to expand their activities to North America. Sylvie Marc co-wrote a book entitled "A la conqu�te de la Silicon Valley" that guides French software companies through the different steps to successfully establish their presence in the North American high-tech markets.
