    Workshop 8: Intellectual Property for startups - What's the point?

    Are you developing a new product? Are you launching a new service? Whether you develop mobile apps, design clothing or sell beauty products, intellectual property will potentially have an impact on the success of your business. But what is intellectual property? How do you spot it, and, most importantly, how do you determine whether you should protect it?

     

    In this workshop, Lawrie IP will outline a simple process that will help you determine whether intellectual property is relevant to your business and, if so, how best to protect it.

     

    They will introduce you to the various forms of intellectual property and show you how to identify and capture each element within your business. They will also discuss how to ensure that your intellectual property is of maximum benefit to your working in line with your overall objectives. You’ll have an opportunity to ask questions of the Lawrie IP panel regarding the benefits of intellectual property, so that you can learn from their experiences and opinions.

    Workshop 9: The 3 C's of Culture

    In business, you could have the best strategy around, but if you don’t have the right culture, you’re setting yourself up to struggle.

     

    While many people think that culture is an HR Function in larger businesses or it’s “just the way it is” in smaller businesses, the reality is it comes from the top – whether your business is large, small, new or established, good culture is about what you create as a leader, and not about what you allow in your business.

     

    The team at STV will discuss this is in more detail, providing tips and tricks on building the right culture.
