What investors want: tax breaks explained

In this workshop we’ll debunk some investment myths and look at how shareholder and investor goals can be aligned through incentivisation.

This workshop gives you to chance to be curious and drive the direction of the conversation. As well as the perspective of the adviser, we’ll give you that of the investor; Calum Forsyth will also join us to offer his view as CEO of Seed Haus, Scotland's most selective tech accelerator.

    Workshop 3 & 4: Pivotal Labs

User-centred design and lean methods: How to build the right thing

Startups have limited cash and a runway that means they need to demonstrate value fast. Making sure you’re spending your resources on the right thing is crucial because you can’t afford to waste a penny. The best way of making sure you’re building the right thing is to validate that you’re solving a real problem for real people. Bringing a user-centred focus to your product will maximise your chances of success.

In this session we’ll go through some techniques that Pivotal Labs uses to help you think about your users, how they experience your product or service, and how you can be sure you’re committing your resources with validated product decisions.
